Nurse applying for Immigration to Canada

Hey guys. I am a registered nurse. I just passed the board exams this year. I havent started a job yet here in the philippines (it's so difficult to get a job!!) but I REALLY want to live and work as an RN in Canada. I've been researching day in and day out, and it's all very overwhelming. I need some of your help / tips / suggestions.

1. Where do you suggest I apply for? I am open to any province (except quebec. because, although they are open to nurses, i will have to take the qualifying exam in FRENCH. bagsak na ako pag ganun)

2. Do i have to take the CRNE before I apply for Permanent residency? or kailangan bang ma approve muna ako for permanent residency? pwede bang mangyari na, mag take ako nang CRNE, tapos kahit pasado ako, i dont get approved for the Permanent residency application?

3. Just help me on what to do FIRST in order to get to Canada. I'm really quite confused. Share your experiences and other questions here!

I think it's pretty difficult to immigrate these days as a nurse (with the exception of Quebec). Nurses are no longer on the Federal Skilled Worker list of desired occupations. This means that to apply through the Federal program, you first need a job offer in Canada. I believe you need a job offer if you want to apply through the provincial programs as well (except Quebec).

You will also need work experience to qualify for most (maybe all?) immigration programs. So you should try to find a job where you are now and get at least one year of full time, paid work experience.

So I would say that the very first thing you should do is get at least one year of work experience. Once you have that, you can start looking into what else you'll need to do to immigrate to Canada.
