Num. of guests - Citizenship Ceremony in Montreal

Hi everyone,

I received today the oath email. It says I can only bring two guests.

My question is for people on this forum who have taken their oaths recently in MONTREAL (preferably at La Plaza 420 Sherbrooke Ouest): Are they strict about the number of guests?

I might have an extra person or two who might be able to attend (so in total 4 max), but not sure how strict they are as many answers I found on this forum regarding this question say different things depending on the city where the ceremony is taking place.

Any feedback would be appreciated!

They are inviting guests based on the capacity they have in the hall. So if they say max 2, it should be strictly adhered to. The Oath letter states that anyone extra will be refused access.

I agree. When i took the oath in April the guest section seemed to be full. I only brought two persons with me and it was obviously ok however you might be lucky and not so many people will attend that day.

For people who might be asking the same question in the future, at least in this oath location (Montreal - La Plaza on Sherbrooke Street), they were not checking how many guests enter. The people taking the oath entered alone at 9 AM. The guests were asked to make a separate queue and they entered at 9:30 AM. They didn't check with the guests they're accompanying which person taking the oath.
