Question for family applicants (virtual oath):


Can two or three people from the same family attend the Zoom oath ceremony from a single device, each using their own seat number?

I saw people doing it in my ceremony. I think they just comma separated the seat numbers in the Zoom name.

I received my passport today, but the FedEx guy needed me to sign and I saw that my name was wrong. I have no idea how, but they misspelled my (commonly misspelled) last name on the shipping label. I thought for sure the passport would be wrong, but it was correct. I guess when they are doing the shipping label it doesn't auto-populate from the application for some reason and they manually type it.

Anyway, I guess my journey to being a citizen is now fully over, passport in hand. Sadly, for my wife, it feels like we've only just begun as she still waits for LPP since Feb 18, 2025.

Yes. But all of people must be there with agent for ID checking.

I am happy to see some movement after waiting almost 2 and a half months but i am really concerned about the background and prohibitions. I haven't got a fingerprint requests or any communication from IRCC besides the test email. Is anyone experiencing this or have any tips for me? Any help will be appreciated.

Background and prohibition remaining for me as well. The last update was 19th Feb 2025 with language and presence completed. Before that test results was marked completed on 11th Feb 2025. My application date is 17th November 2024 and AOR is dated 27th November 2024.

Is it advisable to request a switch from an in-person oath to a virtual one? Will that make the process faster? Does anyone know how to request this?

The invitation letter will provide info on how to request changes if you wish. I have no idea if it will be faster (although I doubt it, it's just my guess). Entirely up to you, don't think it's a question of advisable, no harm no benefit really. (Except you get the nice printed certificate)

You're almost always going to delay your process by requesting a different oath. They'll unschedule you and put you back in a queue.
