Hi,

I am planning to invite some guests from Pakistan.

Regards to the invitation letter that we will be sending them, is it a good idea to get the invite letter NOTARIZED by the notary public?

Q. If we do get the letter notarized, is it ok to send them a scanned copy of it? Or would we need to mail post them the Original version?

Tnx

You don't need to notarize it. Also you can send a scanned copy that is what I have done many times, and it worked without a problem.

Why would you want to notarize it? Notarization doesn't make the contents of the letter true.

It stated on the CIC website, to check with your country office, as some countries do required notarized docs.

Then why do you ask us? ;D

Short answer is NO.

Notarization serves no purpose for an invitation letter. In any case you want to be ultra-sure then follow CIC website's instructions and check with your country office to see which documents need to be notarized.

I just want to learn from people who have also sent such letters for Pakistan Guests if they had any experience with such during their invites.

no need to send a notarized letter.invitation letter is the least weighted document as visit visa is granted on the applicant personal circumstances. it just help to justify how much money the applicant need to carry for the trip to canada. a simple letter mentioning your name, address etc and that you agree to provide the applicant with shelter and food and your relation to the applicant.(even a simple email works better than a decorated document.
