Since the declaration of common law union is an oath that needs to be notarized I was wondering do I have to do it in a Canadian embassy or can I use normal services in my country (Germany)?
Got one more question. My girlfriend and me went to a public notary to notarize the document. After that we were told to take the document to a German high court in order to confirm the notarization.
I've sent an email to the Canadian embassy asking is that enough and they replied that they are unsure but I might have to send the document to the embassy in order for them to "legalize" the document and the statement from the high court.
Does anyone have experience with this? Should I send the document to the embassy or is the German public notary / high court enough?
I don't want to make a mistake since my application got cancelled the last time because of this document.
