Not sure why I'm being asked for "Proof of Relationship".

Hello all,

I am sure I filled in everything accurately but I am a little stumped why I am being asked to upload a "Proof of Relationship" document. I'm applying through Express Entry under the Experienced Class system.

The description is;


You must provide proof of your relationship with your host or family member. This can include:

a marriage certificate
Statutory Declaration of Common-Law Union (IMM5409)Opens a new window
a birth certificate
an official document naming you as a parent
a copy of the inside back cover of the inviter’s passport showing the inviter’s parents, if applicable

I am a single person and I don't believe this applies to me. I had answered that I have an aunt in Canada who is a citizen, is this what it is referring to? I don't think it is because I am also being asked for "Family Member Proof of Status" as well...Not sure what else it can be. Any help is much appreciated. Thank you.

If you're single, I don't know why they are asking for it.

If they need a relationship proof with your aunt, then you need to upload both of your aunt's & mother's birth certificates indicating they have the same parents.

But, the options written by them, doesn't look like they are asking for your aunt's relation with you. Best wishes for you.
