Hi All,
I am in desperate need for your advice. I hold a Canadian PR and did my first landing on 28 July 2015 and my PR expiry date is 24 Sept 2020. I stayed in Canada for a week and then never returned. I am the principal applicant.
We also have a son now who is 10 months old. My wife fell critically ill after her pregnancy and suffered heart failures due to which i couldn't travel. Now i want to return to Canada to save my PR. I plan to travel in mid Aug. But i know i will be falling short for residency obligation. Can you please advice me. My Wife will be travelling after i can sponsor my child so that they can travel together. My wife cannot travel with me because currently she has'nt recovered .
Awaiting your valuable advice.

You actually need to complete the 2 out of 5 years before July 28, 2020 not September. The issue is that you can't sponsor anyone unless you meet you RO. Unless you arrive in a week you don't meet your RO. You can try to bring your child on a TRV or TRP and renew visitor status it every 6 months until you can sponsor. You wife may be enter Canada without getting reported because her PR card is still valid. She has the right to enter Canada no matter what. You could alway try to appeal if she does get reported. Although she was very ill for a year you also chose to stay to out of Canada for the first 2 years so that becomes an issue if you have to file H&C. Many people don't get reported if they have a valid PR card. You should remain in Canada until you complete the 2 years.
