Hi,
My brother is still waiting for his study permit decision, but the school is pressuring him to pay a non-refundable tuition deposit again. He lost the first deposit because IRCC decision was not made by the time the semester started (after he used his only allowed deferral). He reapplied to the school, got accepted and now they want another deposit and yet study permit decision is still not made.
Has anyone faced this? Are schools using this strategy as a new stream of income? Also what advice can you give him, he has no control over when IRCC will decide but the school will not hear it. I suspect he is not the only one they are doing it to.
