Hi there, I took the IELTS exam on sept 9th., however I found it out quite difficult because of the noise in the room next to us...This is what happened:
I'm form Mexico city, and my speaking test was scheduled on sept. 8th, however we've going through so many natural problems with hurricanes and the most strongest earthquake ever (thursday sept. 7th), so my speaking test was cancelled and was re-scheduled to sept. 9th. with the rest of the test
The exam began at 9 a.m. it was in a big and comfortable room, we were like 20 persons (there were another 4 or 5 rooms full of persons that took the IELTS too) so, I was sitting next to the door that comunicates another room (not the main entrance).
We were almost finishing exercise no. 1 and I suddenly started to listen the recordings from the room next to us, nobody said anything. Then the exercise no. 2 began and the noise was even more stronger...so I raised up my hand to a staff member and I asked to fix the problem with the noise!!! At that time the full room said the same. So, the coordinator arrived and changed the recorder and played again the ex. no.2 and said she was so sorry about that....I didn't know what did they do with the other room...so the listening part finished but I couldn't concentrate!
For the reading and writing parts was the same!! I do not know about the others, however I couldn't concentrate much, eventhough I felt I did good with R and W parts.
I've been thinking of complain about this at BC because I'm so dissapointed that they didn't fix the problem for the rest of the test, I don't know either if that was just me that was sitting next to the door or what...but this sucks!
Do you know about other situatation like this?!?!
What does BC should do!?!?
Thanks in advance.
