Hello every one,

The query is related to NOC.
a. My company has assign me title of Head of Software Engineering Unit, but this title is not exampled in their NOC 213 Title list. Can I write Manager, Software Engineering in the NOC title and provide them letter of Head of SEU at the time of documents required. Is it acceptable?

b. Is it necessary to fall under one NOC for more points?

c. From Sept 2005 to Sept 2006 I had performed a Software testing job in company A which also continue to my next company B where i join in Oct 2006. In the same company B, i got promoted on Manager position in July 2007, so can i write Sept 2005 to June 2007 under Software testing NOC or should i have to break up b/c of different companies?

Thanks.

Riz

Software Engineer is a separate category then testing.
The following is my job titles
(correct me if I have written the wrong NOC)
Aug 2002 to Aug 2003: Software Engineer (this position fall in NOC 2173)
Sept 2003 to Aug 2005: Software Testing Officer (this position fall in NOC 2283)
Sept 2006 to Sept 2007: Software Quality Assurance Engineer (this position fall in NOC 2283)
Oct 2006 to June 2007: Sen. SQAE (this position fall in NOC 2283)
July 2007 to date: Head of Software Eng Unit. (fall in 213)

In July 2007 company actually promoted to Manager Software Quality Engieering and Project Coordination and in Jan 2008 given me the new title. But it was confusing so my company agree to maintain the title of Head of SEU from July 2007.

My qualification is BCS (Hons) and currently doing MBA.

Now if you read my 3 question you will be more clear on my issues. I am confused to write the above breakup or simply write one NOC fall in different period. In the form they have ask 'Occupation', I didn't found any thing written 'Occupation in different Companies'

Please feel free to ask any other question if the above information is not clear.

Thanks

Riz

i think you qualify as you are under the same noc as software engineering.
i think its better you consult an immigration lawyer.
The best thing i advise you is to email campbell cohen and explain your situation.
If you are able to, a quick phone will do.
this guy works at campbell cohen and his email is patrick@canadavisa.com
he helped me with all my questions.
ask him and i am sure he will be more happy to help you.
take care and hope all goes well.

hi ocanada..

Does campbell cohen will take fee on consultation?

As i have taken the decision of self applying and I have come so near to submit my application... I am really confuse and trying to figure it out the solution..

Software Engineer may and may not be applied NOC...as most matching NOC is different to my job title....

Is there any Software field people who can share their experience...

nope, if u fone them they give free advice.
they only charge if
(a) u seek to speak to only mr cohen because when u fone, u ll be transferred to his lawyers and thats how its free.
(b) they charge a fee only when they start your application ( on paper ) for you.

i think, you are qualifying under NOC 0213. Head of Software Developer are considered as a Manager. and here your job title is not important, your Job duties are important.

You should write you own title that is Head of software engineering when you fill application to canada PR and write the job duties related to NOC 213.

Here is the similar case........

http://www.canadavisa.com/canada-immigration-discussion-board/noc-0213-duties-matches-but-designation-is-different-t39531.0.html;msg267856#msg267856

Hello.

I need some help.

I am a student advisor in a college with international students and most of my job duties match with NOC 4033-Education Counsellor- However, I was hired without meeting the Employment requirements (some of them are having a phycologist or education degree)

I am a big bridge between students and management. I consider my role quite important, but I am worried that the NOC would be judged-

My concern if this NOC would be accepted? I went NOC by NOC and 4033 was the only one that matched-and even has the title as an example: Student advisor

I really appreciate your help.
