Hi Guys

Apologies for the long post in advance. I needed help regarding deciding what my NOC for applying for express entry should be.

I am an Indian and I have been working in India at a Multinational Bank for the past 4 years. I had joined as a Management Trainee, which meant frequent rotations in various departments within the first 12 months. Later on, I worked as a relationship manager in retail banking for 8 months and then 14 months in the product team of retail banking. Going through the various NOC options, it seems that 0122, Banking, credit and other investment managers seem to be the best fit.

Total time in various departments: 34 months.

Later in July 2016, I joined a different department in Retail Banking Credit in the same organization. Here, I extensively work with databases using SAS and SQL as a coding platform. I generate and maintain system downloads from transaction processing systems. I track portfolio trends and key metrics and report to local and regional teams. These inputs are used to formulate strategies and policies of retail credit. I also perform deep dives and segmentation analysis of product portfolios. This role seems to be a fit form NOC 2171 Information systems analyst and consultants under the information systems business analyst role.

Total time in current role: 14 Months

Could you kindly answer my queries below:

· For NOC 0122, Banking, credit and other investment managers, I have experience of 34 months (full time employee). Can I use this past experience and get points for 3 years work experience?

· If I chose the primary NOC 2171 Information systems analyst and consultants, I can only show experience for 14 months. Is it possible to show the experience for NOC 0122, Banking, credit and other investment managers as well? Will past NOC experience count towards 3 years requirements for full points?

· Is it the safest option for me to club all my experiences and show NOC 0122, Banking, credit and other investment managers as my primary NOC with 4 years of experience? Can my latest role fall under this NOC?

Your advice will be much appreciated.

I too have a doubts regarding the selection of NOC code. Can anyone help me out with the following -

I have done Master in Commerce and for past 3.5 years have been doing job which is falling under job code 2171. Can anyone help me out whether education qualification should also be matched with the job code?

Any help would be highly appreciated as i am hopeful to receive ITA in the next draw and once I receive the ITA, I won't have any option to change the job code later.

NOC don't depend on your job titles. It depends on your job description. Compare the roles and responsibilities and choose the one that matches the most.

No education and job code don't need to be the same (unless it's something like doctor, nurse, lawyer, etc...) I have a bachelor in computer science and worked in maketing
