NOC Help (2171 or 2281)

Hi All

As I understand, we need to select NOC based on the duties performed. Also, the max work experience that can be valid for getting points is 3 years .
My previous job (about 4 years) closely matched 2281 and present job matches 2171.
what do you guys suggest should I choose?

Also, are there any restrictions on NOC 2281 and/or 2171?

Appreciate your help on this.

Just check which NOC (2281 or 2171) is regulated and requires licensing from the concerned authorities in Canada. Only if it is possible, then avoid such NOC codes. Otherwise do the needful.

are there restrictions based on NOC for FSW and EE qualification? I mean is 2281 more preferable to 2171 or vice versa?
there were some NOC level caps until recently. do they still apply?

No, in EE system there is no cap system for NOCs. Every NOC candidate has a fair and equal opportunity.
