NOC Confusion

Hi All,

I am preparing my application but highly confused about my NOC.

I worked for a bank as Strategy Manager but not sure whether this can be under 0111. When I read the details of 0111 I also see "Classified Elsewhere" and here 0123 really matches to what I did at a bank.

In this case am I ineligible? Or can I apply under 0111?

BTW, I am also a computer engineer and I did software engineering and tech consulting before. In this case can I be eligible under a certain NOC?

I am confused.

Btw, I am having MBA at a very high ranked school in the US. Does anyone know whether this helps or not? ANybody had such an experience?

You need to look at the description of the NOC and compare them with experience.
To be eligible you need to see if your NOC is listed under the 38 Ministerial occupation eligible for FSW.

Go to the 38 job list, find the job description for those jobs and look to see if you qualify based purely on duties (not on job titles). If you do, then you may qualify for FSW1, else maybe not.

I saw ur comments. i m also details study about canada immigration matters. though of my knowledge about that u r may be eligible to apply under under 38 category of as a ---------- 01111 (Financial Manager) but have from 0111 of NOC Category classified elsewhere of NOC ---0123 Other Business Services Managers. if ur Jos duties & responsibilities match with 0123.

Main duties ----------
Managers in this unit group perform some or all of the following duties:

* Plan, organize, direct, control and evaluate the operations of establishments that provide services to business such as management consulting, market research, personnel services, payroll services, advertising services or security services
* Plan, develop and organize the policies and procedures of these establishments
* Develop action plans, provide expertise in response to client needs, and support and advise project teams
* Direct and advise staff in the development and implementation of sales or marketing strategies
* Plan, administer and control budgets for client projects, contracts, equipment and supplies
* Represent the company within various economic and social organizations
* Assist staff with administrative or technical problems
* Hire, train and supervise staff.

But as i knowledge of my view must will be match under 38 category 0111 (Financial Manager)
Main jobs duties & responsibilities as a Financial Manager if ur current job like that. then u will be eligible to apply i think so.

Dear Mba,

the finance managers jobs are generally related to functions of accounts and finance done across industries like manufacturing, services etc. It also involve a portion of strategy management. Even I am an mba and worked with both banks and manuf cos. But this is some thing that is having a cross over to both fields of banking and manuf finance.

I hope you understand what i mean.Also be very care and well informed as i heard that noc 0111 will be dropped from the list of 38 professions when the next list will be out. This rumour is also confirmed by my consultants.

Currently I have got my pp stamped pl process your case very fast so that it will fall under 38 list.

Rest have faith on God and hope for the best.
