NOC code update for Spouse after getting the ITA

Hi folks

While submitting the pool application, I had mentioned NOC code for my spouse as 2171 (instead of 2173). We noticed this after receiving the ITA when we reviewed the entire application. Though we are not claiming any points for my Spouse work exp (it is entirely outside canada), but still I feel we should provide correct information to CIC as much as possible.

Kindly advise what should we do?

- Should we update the NOC code to 2173 in the PR webform and attach an explanation letter that it was a typo error
- Do nothing as we are not claiming any points for Spouse Work exp.

I also want to call out that 2171 and 2173 seems to be on the same level and close to each other. My spouse's Job title falls under 2173 and that is the reason we wanted to update it in the PR webform

Please advise.

Thanks
Simran

- Should we update the NOC code to 2173 in the PR webform and attach an explanation letter that it was a typo error A: If possible change it with an LoE
- Do nothing as we are not claiming any points for Spouse Work exp. A: You can do nothing, as it doesn't matter since you are not claiming any points. Show all her time of work in personal history instead.

You can choose to do either.

@CanadaWeCome:

By LOE you mean, Letter of explanation. Correct?
As for second option, I meant do nothing, that is mention workhistory in PR webform with same NOC code as was mentioned in the POOL application. I am not going to take if off from workhistory. Want to have POOL application and PR form consistent as much as possible. Is my understanding correct?

A: It doesn't matter whether your pool profile & e-APR application match or not for this part (spouse work history & personal history) as long as you are truthful/factual because this doesn't accrue you any points whatsoever. Also you don't have to attach any reference letters for your spouse, just make sure you are not claiming any points for spouse's work experience.
