NOC code Software Engineer ( Microsoft, US)

Hi Everyone,

I am applying for a EE and I am bit confused about the NOC category as 2173 and 2174 both seem very close.

For a software engineer in Microsoft, US which would be a better fit? ( i have to say even the main duties listed are very vaguely worded).

Anyone who has had the same problem, would appreciate your advise.

2173 is for programmers who code at OS level or lower. Ie nuts and bolts software.
2174 is for programmers who code for Web applications or gaming or other client facing software.
