Group members,

Appreciate your thoughts.

My husband and I work as software consultants and do fair bit of coding plus we both have taken programming language courses in our undergrad and masters. We both have undergrad in Electrical Engineering. The job code we are applying for is Software Engineers & Designers (2173) and the description says
  • "A bachelor's degree, usually in computer science, computer systems engineering, software engineering or mathematics or Completion of a college program in computer science is usually required."
Will our EOI application be rejected because we do not have bachelor's degree in the above listed specification? Please let us know because we are almost ready to submit our EOI application and we believe we have adequate score to receive an ITA.

Thank you!

If you are applying under PNP, then you will get rejected however if you will get direct ITA, then there is no problem.

I'm in similar situation, and I've researched this on this thread before. It won't be a problem unless it's a regulated profession (which requires a license to practice, like medicine, haha).

The degree requirements listed are guidelines, and the NOC definitions are used by a lot of departments, not just for immigration. For express entry, it's only important for your work experience to match the duties listed.
