Hello,
I'm also on the same boat.
It will be very helpful if someone could throw some light on this.

Thanks in advance.

2283 seems closest. its not really the title as much as the roles and responsibilities that you will be able to prove with documentation

Hello Everyone,

I am Test engineering manager and used noc = 2173 as it closely matched my past and current experience. It worked fine for me. But yes, whatever code you mention your experience letters must cover the associated roles and responsibilities.

Thanks.

Hello,

My roles and responsibilities are as follows. Should I go with 2173 or 2283?

· Test Estimations

· Test Automation feasibility analysis

· Developing software testing plans

· Analysis of Software Requirements/User Stories and development of Test Scenarios

· Setting up Test Environment / Test Lab

· Development & Maintenance of Automated Test Scripts

· Execute, analyze and document results of testing

· Regression Testing on Modified builds.

· Reporting Defects & Tracking Defects

· Allocate tasks and monitor progress of other team members to ensure that the tasks are being completed in a timely manner.

· Interacting with Product Owner and Software developers on daily basis

· Preparing Test Summary Report

· Sharing Test Deliverables (i.e. test plans, test scripts, test results etc.) with the project team

· Preparing and presenting software testing metrics

· Devise methodologies to enhance efficiency and reduce time required for application testing procedures.

That's what this forum is all about..looking out for each other... :) all the best
Hi mapleleaf987,

I have bachelor and masters degree in Computer Science and feeling a little uncomfortable to apply under 2283 as the title is technician. Will it have any impact on my application if I apply under 2283 instead of 2173?

Also, is it possible for you to share your roles and responsibilities here?

Looks quite like my experience too. I use Visual Studio a lot for Automated testing, so I would be interested to know for future reference. :)

russ6970 - I have decided to go with 2173 based on my research online. 2283 is plain vanilla testing without employing any specialized technical skills like automation testing and complex testing techniques and procedures.

In fact, I have bachelors and masters degrees to back it up.

Hi Mike,
Which NOC code did you select? I'm facing the same confusion.
