Hello,

Appreciate help on question below.

I am eligible to apply under two categories of financial analyst ( three years 2010-2013) and Mechanical engineer ( five years 1998-2004). Based on my research financial analyst category is expected to fill quickly but not filled yet. So I want to apply under Mechanical engineer category but lot of people tell me that since I worked long back ( although qualify "officially" under criteria) so I have less chance to get under this category.. Any thoughts / advice appreciates ( I am about two week away from filing right now)

Second question: For the quota of 300, any ideas how many applications will be expected under each category.

Thanks

Rajiv

if i were in your position, i would choose the NOC for mech engr because you have a higher chance getting a slot on this than on the other NOC which is hot right now based on the spreadsheet made by a (few?) forum member here. there is an estimate number of applicants for each category which i think is close to reality because they based the calculation from previous batches of application.

http://www.canadavisa.com/canada-immigration-discussion-board/fsw-2013-applicants-timeline-lets-network-here-t146774.0.html

also if your app is approved, you would have plenty of time to strengthen your skills because of processing time and while having survival jobs during your first months in ca.

the cap limit for each NOC is 300.
