NOC A Minimum advertising requirement

Hi,

My last application for a "NOC B" job got rejected. We just chose this "NOC B" name because the original name for the position did not match any of the official NOC list.

The last application did get rejected due to not meeting the minimum advertisement requirements because it was only advertised on jobbank and not on any industry standart paper/website. The job actually matches more a job description i fond in NOC class A.

If I would re-advertise the same job as with a NOC A job description only on jobbank it should be approved, right? Without the need of advertising on another industry standart job post. Those are usually really expensive!

It is better to exceed the minimum advertising requirements - they are a bare minimum. In addition to advertising longer on Jobbank, you can advertise for free in many other places, such as the company/organization's own website, university placement centres, with professional associations... it's hard to be more specific without knowing more about the occupation.

it is a position as an it analyst, previously we advertised as it technician which is NOC B.
The lady from hrsdc told me on the phone this is because of not meeting the minimum requirement, since jobbank alone was not enough.

IT analyst falls in NOC A though. Besides we also advertised on craigslist. That's where I originally found this job but apparently this is not considered professional enough.
