NOC - 2171 - Job Duties Submitted - Please Guide ASAP

Hello Seniors,


I received the ITA on November 3rd,2016 and AOR on December 4th 2016. I received the invite under CEC and the job details from the canadian employer are shown below:

My application is pretty legit but my employer/HR did not provide enough details regarding the duties and kept it at high level:


"Mr XXXXX is a Senior Consultant at XXXXXX. XXXXXX's job responsibilities as a Senior Consultant include:
• Risk Analytics Model Development and Model Validation
• IT Systems Risk Assessment
• Analytics Dashboard Development
• Data Governance and Master Data Management
• Data Quality and Data Architecture Assessment
• Business Intelligence Reporting

XXXXXX XXXXX is employed full time (37.5 hours per week) and receives standard employee benefits available to all XXXX Canada employees."

I was fine with this letter initially but after going through this forum I am bit nervous. I have undergraduate degree information technology engineering degree, Masters in Information systems and MBA. My profile, job duties and education are well aligned with 2171 - Information Systems Analyst.

Please guide me if I should send an updated letter with detailing the above duties in bullet points? How can I send updated letter as I have already submitted my application to CIC?

Don't worry about education or job title, only the duties matter. IMO it's a bit short and vague. Is there anyway it could be expanded? For each point can the company say "xxx risk assessment conducted on project xyz" ?

I am about send request to get the letter from HR for NOC 2171, could you please review following duties and share your opinion as to if it looks a match or not. I have sent an email to NC-NOC-CNP-GD@hrsdc-rhdcc.gc.ca and asked the NOC code from them on these duties but to no avail yet. Appreciate your help on this:

1. Conducted business requirement workshops with business users to understand business flow, gather requirements and prepared Business Requirements Documents.
2. Understanding “as is” software product and designing “to-be” software product, performed gap analysis on the existing product to incorporate change requests given by clients.
3. Translating and documenting business requirements into functional specification documents and prepare other functional documents that are related to software solution development life cycle.
4. Translate and explain functional specification to technical development and testing teams and support them in the overall development and testing process until the final release.
5. Create functional test cases and perform functional testing and provided sign-off on the release for the product.
6. Liaised with all project stakeholders, developers and QA to ensure timely delivery of the software application.

Please do not panic. Try sending them CSE with the expanded duties details. They can also call the employers and ask the details or may send you to send the same later. Whatever you send will be acknowledged.
