NOC 1114 Mortgage Broker/Agent

Hey guys, I have worked in Toronto as a mortgage agent with a brokerage for over 24 months on my post grad work permit. I was considered an independent contractor by the brokerage and paid commisions on closed files. Would this wor experience be considered self emloyed? Because i wasnt working for my self or as a business however i have come to find out you wont get any points awarded for work experience in Canada that is considered self emlployed. Can anyone with experience with this help me out here with my question?
