Hi Readers,

Requesting the guys with NOC: 0621 to connect here. Since most of the EE candidates are in IT or related stream, the experience sharing pertaing to our NOC would really help one and all. Any kind of insights will be great.

I have updated my LinkedIn profile, contacted some of the HRs of Home Depot, Wall Mart etc. What else can be done being outside Canada?

I encourage you guys to post any kind of experience/thoughts/ideas.

I suspect it will be *very* difficult to find an employer willing to go through the LMIA process for a retail/wholesale trade manager for a candidate outside Canada.

I also suspect that any application you make from outside Canada will not even be looked at.

The only thing I can think of to increase your meagre chances is to research and target employers in really isolated areas.

I'm sorry I can't be more positive/encouraging.

Lammawitch, thanks for replying.

Why would I need an LMIA if I have a PR visa? I would get the Confirmation of Permanent Residence by the month end. This won't ensure I am taken as a localite by the Canadian recruiter?

You posted in the Temporary workers section of the site, and it was not at all clear that you are reaching the end of the PR application process, hence my response about LMIA.

Having said that, many (some would say most) employers won't be interested in a candidate from outside Canada, even if/when you already have PR, especially in your career field.

"Boots on the ground" job searching/networking is probably your best bet.

Yeah Lammawitch. I have been doing that to the best of my ability. Adding Canadian Retail HRs/Professional Recruiters to my Linkedin connection, applying for jobs at Linkedin... Anything else you can suggest? The best bet/province for my NOC?
