No update on whether passport has been received by Ottawa Office?

I sent my passport and it has been delivered by Canada Xpresspost on the 31st of October. I am very worried as to why the Canadian government has not updated any information whatsoever relating to them having received my passport? I am worried that my passport has gone missing. Is this normal that they do not update the status on the website and application updates when they have received my passport?
