No stamps in passport for a trip - forgot to mention it

Hello all,

I applied few months ago for Canadian citizenship. I went methodically through every single page of my passport to record all my trips in my residence calculator. The Canadian customs forgot to stamp an entry in my passport so I forgot to mention a 30 days trip back home. At the time I applied I was at 1096 physical presence. So with this trip I now fall short of the requirements.

This is a honest/stupid mistake. What do you think will happen? Both my wife and I live and work here, we both pay our taxes. Also we're having a (Canadian) baby pretty soon. I feel all that application effort goes wasted because of that missing stamp.

Any advice of what to do or any similar experience would be greatly appreciated.

Cheers

My $0.02 ... QUICKLY withdraw your application, as if this one goes into real processing it will just get refused 100%.
then wait until you're eligible again...
then re-submit your application (you'll pay again) AND add a sheet explaining what happened...
be prepared for a QR :( (worst case scenario in case they get so paranoid of what happened).

Again, just my opinion.

Thanks. I'm definitely going to call them on Monday to see what my options are. According to the typical Vancouver timeline, the test date (if any) should be coming up soon (6 weeks at most).

I suggest, don't stress over it. You have waited too long...the officer wil consider that you are working here and doing well. its too late to pull out your application at this time!

Put yourself in the shoes of CIC - does it really sound plausible that you can forget a month of absence from Canada or any other country for that matter...they will read you were trying to beat Bill C-24 at best or disbelieve any other declared absence dates at worst. Once you have less than 1095 days of physical presence you are at the mercy of CIC, the CJ and the courts as you got through the RQ and likely long haul CJ in person hearing. You are better off withdrawing and re-applying.

30 day is too much, the case will be rejected due to falling short of 1095 days. so send in a 2nd application ,explaining the situation and withdraw the 1st one.
should act quickly
