It's been roughly a month now since I and my wife sent off her sponsorship documents, and we still haven't received any sort of confirmation that the documents arrived. Unfortunately, we don't have any way to track the documents and I'm guessing even less chance now that it's been around a month since we sent it.

I remember reading somewhere that once they receive the documents at the processing center, we would receive an email notifying us, which of course wasn't the case. Can anyone confirm how long it usually takes for a response or confirmation the documents have arrived? Are there any other ways I can contact them to check as well? I fear the longer we wait with no information the more issues will occur with our timeline of moving, which in turn would potentially cause problems for some of our plans listed in the documents we sent.

For some background information, we are both living in Japan and my wife is the one being sponsored. She is a Filipina which I hope didn't add to any extra steps in the processing start (Having the documents sent to the Philippines and back to Canada or anything like that.) We sent everything to the address listed on the "Checklist" document:

Case Processing Centre-Sydney,
P.O. Box 9500, Sydney, Nova Scotia, B1P 0H5.

Sorry for the long post, but thank you to any that can help!

It took almost 4 months for me to get an email with acknowledgement of receipt last fall... things seemed to have sped up a bit since then, but waiting 2+ months to get a confirmation response is totally normal.

it takes 6-12 weeks to hear anything. this is a VERY long process with VERY LITTLE communication.. brace yourself for the ride... once you have your initial communication, you will get an application number and you can create an online profile and see the general status of your application

It is taking somewhere around 40-50 days these days to receive the AOR (acknowledgement of receipt). this will be followed by a biometric request, sponsorship approval and medical request (can be in any order) in a very short span of time.
