No reply from visa office Bangalore

It has been more than three working weeks since I applied for a Visa, I have tried to contact Visa office through mail, but I haven't received any reply. I'm worried it might take longer. Has anyone faced such problem? If so what to do now? Please help.

You don't say what kind of visa you have applied for. However processing can take a few months. There's really not much you can do but wait for a reply.

I have applied for Work-permit visa, my friends who have applied along with me, have received mail for change in visa category as Work-permit is not applicable for self-funded researchers. They have withdrawn their applications and applied for Visitors visa, as per instructions by visa office. But I have not received any mail from the Consulate General of Canada, Bangalore.
