NO JOB ... Can i still sponsor my husband ? URGENT !!

Hello,

I am 21yrs old. I am canadian citizen. I wanted to know if i have to have job to sponsor my husband to canada ? Alot of people we know that sponsored their spouse say that you need to work and show your income. But i have been reading online that you dont need to work if you are sponsoring your spouse. It only applies if there is dependent child involved. Can you please tell me how to go about it ? I am currently living in india with my husband. I thought we will go to canada together once he gets his visa. Can my parents write a letter saying that they will support us until we find a job and explain that we will both start working as soon as we get there...? Please help

If your husband doesn't have dependant children who have dependant children then you guys are exempt from minimum income requirement.

BUT you do have to show that you have money coming from somewhere (not necessarily a job) and you'll be albe to support your husband once you are both in canada for 3 years.

Yes. You can have your parents write a letter saying they will support you financially. That is what I did. I asked my parents, brother and aunt to write a letter and included them with our application.

yes - not only that they will support you, but also how. Try to write a plan as precise as possible : if your parents will host you until you find a job, and pay for the bills, etc then get them to write a letter for that. Explain what type of education you have, and your husband, and which type of job you will be looking for. Start contacting recruiters and enquire what type of job you could get, to show CIC that you have thought about it. Make a plan as precise as possible - with details etc, it will help to compensate for the fact that you are not living in Canada now, and that you don't have a job - you need to convince CIC that you will return to Canada, and you won't need to go on welfare to support your husband.
