NO INFORMATION ON ECAS

hi everyone, I am in panic mode right about now! I applied to sponsor my husband from bosnia (through the canadian embassy in vienna) and I was approved as a sponsor back on January 8th 2014. However there is NO information about our application on ECAS at all nor have we been contacted via email after my getting approved as a sponsor. :-[ :-[ :-[


can someone please help me understand what the potential problem here is?

It took a while for my info to show up ( they don't update it often) but when I use my sponsor's UCI as listed on the SA email we received, I can access the file. However, it took at least a week.

my guess is that the visa office in bosnia does not update or enter information into ECAS. the fact that you can't access the system, does not mean anything. it is not mandatory for the information to be entered into ECAS, nor is it mandatory for visa offices to update statuses through the system. i believe it's seen as more of an "added value" for the convenience of the applicant. most visa offices do not respond to emails either.

I'd say if you were notified of sponsorship approval and the file being transferred, and are still within normal posted processing times for your visa office, then unfortunatly there's nothing more to do than wait it out.
