Hello everyone,

I am really new to this forum and have been reading posts but couldn't find an exact answer to the concern. so I have decided to post here.
I understand the application process usually takes a while, but, I have sent in my wife's application (Paper based Family Class Spouse sponsorship) to the Immigration office in Sydney, NS on 23rd June, 2019 and I have not received any kind of update from the CIC yet.
  • I have written to CIC but they came back saying they couldn't find my application.
  • I have tried to link my wife's applcation to my GC account but it returns saying they cannot find the application.
The application just cannot be found. How long should I be waiting to know that CIC did receive my application and have started processing?

HOW did you send it to Sydney? Did you use a 'signed for' courier and if so, you will have proof it was delivered and the date. If so, then normal for it to sit in a pile for 4 - 10 weeks until it is 'vetted for completeness' then entered onto their system, which in turn generates AOR1. Until it is on their system, they would have no record of it and would not be willing to manually check through the probably hundreds of applications in the pending pile.

Bottom line is give it three or four more weeks before pressing the panic button.
