Hi I am new member. i have a question regarding four year requirement (1460 days) can anyone tell me when it will effective??

my second question regarding entry stamp, that is

my first entry November 2011 till march 2012 ( my son born in this time and i worked this time)
my second entry July 2012 to September 2012 ( i worked this time) (but my kids didnt go to school because school holidays)
my third and last entry October 2012 till to date ( i worked this time then i went on EI, now i m full time study on OSAP)

but in my second entry July 2012 till September 2012 no Canadian entry stamp.

otherwise i have all entry stamps. and i have proof to presence in Canada like my two kids full time school student and i have submitted my all tax return in 2012, 2013, 2014. i have my job record. i have lease documents for my apartment.

i am safe or i have to do some thing for these three month period because there is no stamp on it and i am not sure it is in canadian record or not?

Nad,

For 4 year requirements instead of 3: it will come in effect some time summer 2015. No one knows for sure, but CIC said it will be approximately in a year from July 2014.

For the entry stamps - order a CBSA report and check if there is a record of you entry to the country (there are many posts on this forum for how to request one)
Also, you can provide boarding pass/itinerary/ticket - anything as a proof of entering the country. Most important thing is that you are not hiding the trip. So, declare it on your residence calculator spreadsheet and try to get a proof (CBSA record and/or boarding pass)

cheers

i think when you enter canada using your pr card, they don't stamp your passport. you just go to kiosk and scan your pr card and meet immigration officer and then go home.
Did it exactly happen with you?

4 years out of 6 rule will come into life only in summer 2015. If you don't have the entry stamp (and I'm assuming you travelled to your homeland, so you don't have the other country exit stamp to serve as an indirect proof), you can:

a) order ATIP from CBSA (cbsa report)
b) order etickets from your airlines (that is if you have lost your boarding passes or etickets.)
c) order border agency report from your home country that will show the exit dates.

Try option a and b first. If you're unsuccessful, go for c. Good luck. :)

Thanks every one for replying

right now i have proof of my three month stay are job latter and apartment lease documents, exit and entry stamp from my home country and e-ticket as well but i dont have canada entry stamp.

as per you guys advised i apply CBSA report. but my question is that if they dont have my record these evidence are enough to proof three month stay in canada. i have remaining all stamps of two years and 9 months and other proofs.

i am thinking for example i apply now for my citizenship and my test and interview after 4 to 6 months . and i am still in canada doing my full time dental hygiene study. so at the time of interview if officer not accept these three months i have already more then three months to stay in canada. do it work???

hope guys u understand my point of view...

i would suggest you to try residency calculator to check if you are eligible.
secondly, if you have 3 months proof then you would be fine.
Again, RQ depends upon the officer who is reviewing your file. If you highly doubt, wait for 3 months to be on safe side

"You must be eligible to apply for Canadian citizenship the day before you sign the application form."
(Reference: http://www.cic.gc.ca/english/information/applications/guides/CIT0002ETOC.asp)

This is to say that you must have 1,095 days or more of residence at the time the application is submitted. You cannot post-date your application. It says so in the instruction guide:

"Your application will be returned to you if:

the form is not signed and dated,
stale-dated (dated more than 90 days before CIC receives it),
post-dated (dated into the future)."
