No client ID yet, why?

I hope somebody can help us with these doubts. :(

This is our case:

I'm a postdoctoral fellow at the University of Alberta, I have a work permit as Skilled worker (NOC 4011) for one year. My wife came with me to Edmonton as a visitor and she submitted an online application for work permit on October 5th. We received an online confirmation of “transmition” after we did the payment online. We have a e-payment receipt. At the end of this process was displayed a message, which indicated that we must wait for an email with the "Client ID". Until now, we didn't get any email and any answer at all from CIC.

Is this the regular waiting time? updating applications take so long ?

We are worried because we have no answer from the CIC, moreover because our old access key to MyCIC isn't working anymore, when we try to log into the CIC's website it asks for the client ID as well. In addition, progress status only can be checked with the client ID.

We know that applicantion times takes about 2 months, actually maybe longer, but we are concerned because we dont have news from CIC.

Looking forward for your comments.

You may want to consider having your wife contact the CIC call centre at 1-888-242‑2100 Monday to Friday, 8 a.m. to 4 p.m., your local time. They will be able to give her her client ID if it has been assigned already.

Hi, where are you from? Are you from Spain because of the name?
My boyfriend is doing a PhD in Chemistry in Spain and he'd like do a postdoc in Canada.
How did find the postdoc in Canada? Or if you could give more information.

Thanks a lot

Hi,
I'm from Mexico.
Well, I think everyone have a different approach to get a postdoctoral position. I met my postdoctoral supervisor a long time ago, we published together since my PhD.
The most important thing is get in contact with the professor of interest, and asks about a postdoctoral position. Also, you can find postdoctoral opportunities in websites of universities. They are offering postdoctoral positions very often.
If you are interested in positions at U of Alberta, visit: postdoc.ualberta.ca
If you need details or specific info, feel free to ask me.

Regards.
(also we can talk in Spanish if you need)

Hi, I'll write to you in English since it's an English forum.
This is what he knows, that you have to contact the professor. He'll finish the PhD in about one year. When do you think it's better to contact the university?
He wants to try in Alberta or BC.

Thanks ;)
