No birth certificate principal applicant spouse sponsorship

hi everyone

I am sponsoring my wife who is an Indian citizen. She doesn't have her Birth Certificate. In the checklist it is mentioned that we must provide them with a birth certificate. I am looking to understand if there is a substitute for this? Do I really need to supply them with the birth certificate, wouldn't any other document such as Matriculation and Adhar etc bearing her DOB work.

Please advise if anyone had been in the same situation.

If it specifies birth certificate, you need a birth certificate, otherwise they would list alternatives.

Most governments have some kind of records department from which you should be able to get a replacement. Try that first.
