No annual salary - work was paid by hours worked - should I report total gross earnings in ref letter?

The IRCC website says that the work reference letter must include annual salary plus benefits. I had a Research Assistant job at a University from October 2020 to March 2022. I had no fixed annual salary or weekly hours. My hours depended on the supervisor's research needs and grants. My supervisor has drafted a nice letter showing the average hours per week and the wage per hour. But there is no way to report the annual salary as there was none.

The job was fixed like this: Ok we've got work for you. 70 hours for $28 per hour. In?

Should I then report my gross earnings from this job over the whole period from October 2020 to March 2022 in the reference letter?
