No acknowledgement letter for TRV paper application within Canada

Hello all, my husband is currently in CAnada we have been approved for sponsorship and in the final stages of getting his PR. We want to travel to Peru his home country in April, so we applied to get a new TRV since his is expired. He has an open work permit and has his temporary resident status maintianed. I applied on paper since the option of online was not available to us. We had to send the passport in the application, that was on February 13. We mailed via canada post and got a signature confirmation of delivery, however we have never received a letter of acknowledgement stating that the application was open. I was wondering if this was normal, the processing times show 12 days, but I would have thought to get an acknowledgement letter way before that, tomorrow will be day 12 (business days), and I'm wondering if I should worry because I did not get an acknowledgement letter. Anyone can share their views on this?

CIC doesn't send acknowledgement letters for TRV applications.

Are you serious? You are making my night so less stressful ! Thank you ! From all the searches I did I kept finding a bunch of people that had received an acknowledgement letter... How do you know this for sure? Thanks again for your response !

Other question : So they are just going to send back the passport with the TRV without sending me any letter of whatsoever?

Just updating this thread in case anyone would need the information. I finally reached CIC and they did receive the application, however even if I had a signature delivery on February 13, they had in their system that they received it on February 21. So the processing time of 12 days started from February 21, not Feb 13.
