Hi,

The NEXUS requirement states that as a PR, I need to have lived in the US or Canada for the past theee years to apply.

I am a new Canadian PR. I just moved from the US, but I have been living in the US continuously for 8 years on a student visa.

Does that 8 year in the US count towards the residency requirement? That is, am I eligible to apply for NEXUS card or do I need to live in Canada for 3 more years?

NEXUS Eligibility
Are You Eligible?

U.S. citizens, U.S. lawful permanent residents, Canadian citizens, Canadian lawful permanent residents and Mexican nationals who are members of Mexico’s trusted traveller program, Viajero Confiable are eligible to apply for membership in the U.S./Canada NEXUS program.

If you are under the age of 18, you must have your parent or legal guardian’s consent to participate in the program.

No where does it say you have to live in the country for 3 years..?

Thanks for the response.

I see where you are coming from, but there's definitely a 3-year residency requirement for PRs. It also applied to citizens in the past but was lifted long ago.

I don't know why it's missing from the page you quoted. But I guess the requirements for NEXUS are kind of scattered in different places and some are not very clear (thus this question).

Anyway, I think I found someone in the same situation who got NEXUS card (aj355 in http://www.canadavisa.com/canada-im.../threads/am-i-eligible-for-nexus-card.496207/), so I think I got the answer I need :)

Hi, I am in exactly the same situation as you do. Did you end up getting the NEXUS? Thank you very much in advance!
