Next steps after express entry rejection

Hi All. I was invited to apply and had submitted an express entry profile last month along with all the required documents (or so I thought). Today my application was rejected because it was missing the police certificate. I realized only now that although I had the required document, I had accidentally uploaded an incorrect file. Obviously this was an error on my part with a harsh consequence.

My questions is related to next steps as the instructions were lacking:

1. The rejection letter states that my information will be saved for 60 days, but when I tried to submit again, it looked like I had to reenter all the information from scratch. What did they mean when they stated specifically that "The information can be used to submit a new express entry profile"?

2. What happens to my medical exam which I have already completed. The doctor obviously referenced my express entry number which will change when I resubmit. Does the doctor need to resubmit as well?

3. I know this was an error on part but is there any recourse or way to appeal so they can reopen my profile and allow me to submit?

Thank you for your insights!

1. Only certain information will be available to create a new profile, not all.
2. Yes, the doctor will need to resubmit the test results.
3. Maybe, but it will take longer to have them look back into your documents. You are better off starting over fresh.
