Newborn Parental Sponsorship

My sister has given birth in Vancouver, but neither her husband nor she is a citizen. Obviously the baby is a newborn and cannot apply for his parents to extend their stay in Canada. What kind of status or category can she apply for to secure her stay in Canada with the baby? Because I don't think she's that eager to bring him back to Taiwan.

Is having a Canadian baby helpful to the parents applying for residence status?
What's the best way to go about this?

Thanks.

There's no such category. And no - having a Canadian baby isn't at all helpful when it comes to applying for PR.

If they want PR, they will need to qualify and apply just like anyone else. The baby doesn't help them at all.

None. She can try to extend her visitor visa/status. But that's it.
Her kid can sponsor her when he/she is over 18 and have met the minimum necessary income requirement for three years. With the currently process, then can enter into a draw.
BUT no one knows what will be actual process 18+ years from now.
