Hi Ladies,
Glad to see everyone in good spirits and conversation flowing!!
I totally relate to everyone of your stories from going to JA and becoming addicted to the culture, vibez and men or I should say.. my MAN :-[ to having problems with family and friends for the choices that I have made in my life regarding my husband.
I loved to travel from when I was lil bit, I didnt go to JA until 2007. Before that I travelled all over, mexico, trindad, tobego, cuba, italy, ireland, america etc etc.... but when I went to JA I loved the music, the culture, the fact that they spoke english (sorta lol) and there is something pure and beautiful about the people there... majority seem not to be all caught up in vanity.
I also struggled telling my family and friends that I had secretly travelling to JA about 6 times a year for the past few years when I decided to tell them that I was getting married. Woops.... did I forget to tell everyone that I had madly fallen in love... Looks so........ Why? Because I knew the reaction i was going to get. I invited my closest friends and family members to my wedding that was taking place 4 months and told them to trust me with my decision - after a few months of batteling with them all, they all decided that they would prefer to keep a daughter/sister/neice/friend than to not... they all showed up, fell in love with my husband, and now...... after a year and a half of him being here in Canada, make it seem like it was their idea..... it did take over 2 years for them to finally admit that I made the right decision.... BUT it all worked out in the end....
I met a lot of people from the forum one day, when we had a forum family get together.. and I have kept in touch with quite a few... Its funny how people come in to your lives. I hope you ladies and gents build some great friendships through this forum also... we are able to build a special bond through this process with other people going through the same situation.
Looks like we might be in need of another family get together.
I am in downtown Toronto....
Loved reading all your stories....
