Newbie question - Provincial program - skilled worker immigration

Hello,

New Here. I've applied for PR under the federal skilled worker program about 3 years ago - and still waiting.

A strange thing happened - And I wanted the forum's opinion on the subject:

I've been offered a job (as a Computer technician) through the attorney handling my application. To accept the job would require me to shift to one of the provincial programs: according to my attorney this would speed up my application to a few months.

There are lots of strange things about this.

1. I've never spoken to the prospective employer, nor heard of him. - As a manager of staff for 10 years, I'd never hire someone without at least talking to him first. What kind of company would do this?

2. I'm Dramatically overqualified for the position (I have an MS in computer science and an MBA) - I'm sure the employer who saw the resume realizes I'm not going to be with him for more then the minimal required time - which might be minimal indeed.

3. I see nothing that would keep me from resigning the position say - 1 week after accepting and moving to a different province.

Whatever people might tell here is what they think would well benefit them according to their situations. I mean you might know what best benefits you.

If you really think there's something wrong with this job offer, wait and let the things get done the normal process. And if you think this job offer is worth a try, why not?

If it was for me, I'd give the job offer a try. Besides, what I have heard so far is that you might not get all you have here according to your experience and qualifications in Canada.

It takes some times and adjustments to get the same job and position you have in your home country.

Anyways, think what best suits you do what you got to do.

Thanks for the inputs.

No money has been mentioned yet - but it's a good point: and makes the whole thing make sense (The job is bogus - it is intended to speed up the process - for a fee).

I'll check: The attorney handling my case has a good reputation - I don't think its a shakedown.

However, any opinions on whether the whole thing is legal?

Also, is there anything by law that prevents me from shifting provinces or jobs? I don't want to find out my PR Visa is getting revoked just because I landed at a different province then the one that sponsored me...

Hello,

Here's an update:

The Attorney handling the application, has explained that it WILL take additional money, but not to him, to a Canadian attorney in the province (Saskatchewan).

However, He HAS guaranteed that I do not pay anything until My Passport is stamped with th VISA.

Should I go for this? My main worries are:

1. That I will find myself "stuck" in a relatively unattractive province, in a low paying job for an extended period of time (My profession requires proximitay to main financial hubs: In Canda this means TORONTO.

2. That I'll find that something here is illegal - causing my PR to be revoked unexpectedly.
