New York VAC Online Approval, Passport return timeline

Help!
I live in the US. I applied for the TRV online and I got the letter from CIC asking for passport, which I sent to the NYC VAC on June 9th. I still have not gotten an application tracking number from them.
I called them today and they said to call back friday if I have not gotten it by then. I am still not in their system.
Am wondering if anyone knows when to expect my passport back? The online processing time is 10-15 days, but the customer service person on the phone said up to one month.
I need my passport back (With or without stamp) by the end of the month.
Not sure what to do...

applied online: June 3rd
Got request for passport: June 8th
Passport sent: June 9th
Finally got receipt and tracking number: June 15th

Great news. Just for my own curiosity as I am in a similar situation, what is your status in the US and what kind of materials did you supply with your application? Thanks
