My sister in-law needs to know if she can still use the TRV from her old passport. She renewed her passport in Feb 2014, in anticipation of applying for her PR under the LIC program. She is expecting her OWP in the next few weeks, and once it is issued wants to travel home for a 1 month vacation her see her family. Can she still use the TRV from her old passport to reenter Canada? It was a multiple entry TRV, valid until Feb 15, 2015.

Yes she can use it. As long as she reenters before the expiry of the TRV. She needs to present the valid visa on the old passport and the new passport at the immigration counters showing she has a valid entry document (visa) and travelling on an unexpired passport.

I will let her know. She was worried if she would have enough time while in Manila to get a new one.
