Hello Experts

i am new to this forum and to overall process of express entry. i was going to through the process of getting the ECA for educational certificates. My understanding is following, please help to validate/correct/clarify

1. i am thinking of getting the ECA done through WES which seems to be the preferred choice of many. going to WES site, it says, i need to send the mark-sheets in a sealed envelope (sealed by university). i being in India, i am sure nobody at the university know what and how this is to be done. please if somebody has some experience in getting this done especially at Panjab Unilversity (PU). please let me know how this can be done as i no longer stay in Chandigarh. Do i need to this physically or via mail/web/phone this can be done?

2. My understanding is only the mark-sheets are needed to be attested by university before sending to WES, the degree certificate can be sent as is. please clarify

3. i was surprised not to see IIT Kharagpur and PU in the list Autonomous universities in list. What am i missing?

Any help appreciated in this. thanks in advance guys. cheers.

Go to your university and request them for transcripts. They will either send it you in a sealed envelope which you can send along with copy of degree to wes

OR fill the wes request form and give it to your university and they will send the documents directly to wes.

Thanks StAnger, the only issue in one university is in chandigarh and other in Kharagpur and i am putting up in Bangalore :-X . So, i thought if this could be done via some proxy or via web/email etc (already checked the sites though and found no options). so wanted to check if somebody has some ground level experience how this is done etc. But, thanks for your response. cheers

Whats is your highest degree? Why do you want to get it from two universities? Usually people only get eca for highest degree.

You may have to go yourself or you can ask parents/ someone to do it on your behalf unless your university provides online ordering.

For university education it says- only transcripts needs to be sealed.

Once you get them sealed , you put your (degree certificate + sealed envelope) in another envelope and forward it to WES.

under search results for Kharagpur comes- Indian Institute of Technology Kharagpur

Last thing as StAnger says go for the highest degree for ECA & check what docs WES asks for.

I have done my UK masters ECA by contacting them on phone and mailing them. All I had to pay them is the processing fee, the rest they did by sending the sealed envelope directly to WES. For my bachelors I had to go to my university in Hyderabad and got the transcripts in my hand, later I couriered it to WES Most of the universities are aware about WES and know about the procedure as well. Try to get in touch with them remotely and see if they can do it, otherwise you have to go in person and get it done. Preferable to get both Masters and Bachelors ECA.

Buddy, i am in bangalore too and got the transcripts from GNDU (Punjab) and Pune for MBA. Few pointers below:
1. You need not be physically present in Chandigarh but if you have someone who can visit the university, this will expedite the process. Else, call certification department, make a friend and get it courier to you in a sealed and signed envelope.

2. Correct. Mark sheets for all the semesters plus your college may have transcript format are to be sent to WES along with degree certificate copy. Sealed and signed envelope is a must from university/college for both UG and PG courses.
