New to Canada and want to apply for a PR in the Express entry

Dear Friends,

I am new to Canada and its been 2 months that I have arrived here. I am a Senior Consultant and into Consulting. Iam into Technical Development.

I have the following questions. Appreciate your quick response.

1. I would like to apply in the "Express Entry for Skilled Workers". Which category do I belong to? Is it Category A or Category B.

2. Let me know if i can attempt for CELPIP instead of IELTS. Please let me know what is the score that has to be attained for CELPIPS as well for IELTS.

3. When is it a good time to apply for the PR? and what is the time frame within which i can get a response from the Canadian government.

1 - You have to look in what NOC (National Ocupation List) does your job falls into. Look for it here: http://www.cic.gc.ca/english/immigrate/skilled/noc.asp

2 - Yes you can take the CELPIP, in order to attain a perfect score you need a 10/12 in all sections. For IETLS it varies depending on the section. Look for it here: http://www.cic.gc.ca/english/resources/tools/language/charts.asp

3 - The sooner you create an Express Entry profile the better. Once you have received an invitation to apply and send all your documents you'll get a response in around 6 months. Of course, you need to have a good score in order to get invited in the first place.
