New temporary resident visa? 18 days?

Hi, maybe anyone can tell me if my husband could apply his WP extension with the same employer under this new category...

He got his LMO approved today and his current WP will expire at the 29.December. I see that the processing times is 83 days with the same employer and 18 days with the new temporary resident visa. Is this an option for him? His employer wants to keep him working without waiting in between.

83 days is too long so could he just leave Canada with his LMO and Contract either way at the POE Montana or else we think of doing a short trip to Seattle and come back in and get the WP at the Airport... ??

If it's with the same employer, he could send his application for the WP to CPC-Vegreville, and he would be on implied status, that is if his current work permit is still valid (meaning he is in status), and there would be no changes on the nature of his job.

Hi job_seeker, yes it's the same employer and there are no changes besides a higher salary. His current WP expires 29th of December so if he sends the application now, he will be able to work until it expires and then has to wait on implied status... the 83 days or the 18 days? sorry not sure. In case the 83 days he will re-enter Canada I guess since they want him to start working on the 3th January.

TRV and WP are different. You need TRV and WP if you exit Canada and re-enter. Was the increase in salary due to promotion or increase in the wage law?

It was due to promotion and he is from a visa-exempt country. So could he take his LMO/Contract and a letter of his employer saying they want him back to work and either way flagpole at a land or air POE?Thanks job_seeker!
