I am a masters student and I am looking forward to call my 2kids and husband on visit, however I am confused whether I call my secondary school going kids on study permit or on visitor visa and than apply for study permit from within Canada as per new regulations. I will appreciate all sincere and expert input. This forum has always helped me a lot on my way! Thanks

What you are saying is contradictory, either they are here to visit or to study. What is your plan? What are they actually going to do in Canada? What new regulations? Why do you want them to get a study permit? Please elaborate.

Jalex, It is nothing contradictory perhaps I had nt been able to explain my point clearly, I have 4 kids, I arrived on study permit along two kids while the other 2 stayed with my husband in my home country. I am over with 2 semesters and have got a good GPA..now I am left with 2 semesters with 2 courses per semester only, I am sure I can manage my kids with this properly, as the other two are high schoolers and will be a help, I am going to apply for 3 years work permit after my masters that is the eligibility of the course I have taken, I am looking for best possible way that their visa got accepted, according to new regulations, visitors can apply for study permit now from within Canada,I just want expert opinion which route is better, either apply for study permit from home country or bring them here as visitors and than apply here from Canada, I think its better to apply for study permit from home country so there wouldn't be two procedures to follow, I simply want my kids to stay with me. any kind opinion?

[size=12pt] ONLY if they are ALREADY in school in Canada(like a high school foreign student could apply for SP to go to University from inside of Canada).

If your 2 children come on VISITOR visas (with their father or without him)- then they would not need a SP to go to school because you, their parent, is in Canada already on SP. But because your intention for them is not to come for a short visit but to stay with you in Canada and go to school here then for entering Canada they have to get SP.

Dear Regina, I visited District school board, They told that I have to apply for study permits for them, however I can apply from here also after their arrival, but why to waste money on 2 procedures? so with the name of God I am going to apply next week for their study permits, here consultants have commented that for minors study permits are never rejected if mother is here..lets see whats the destiny..I will share it here, whatever be the result, it will help people gain further insight who are looking to pursue study along kids. thanks to everyone for time and input!
