I landed on September 4th 2011 and started working the same month in Quebec. My earnings were low for those months in 2011 after landing, under 7000. I paid about 900 dollars in taxes, 400 federal and the rest for Quebec. Most tax calculators say I shouldn't have paid any taxes because my income was so low, but I am not sure if being a new PR affects this. Just trying to figure out if it is worth filling taxes this year at HR Block or somewhere and paying their fees to get it filed.

It's worth filing the taxes because 1. you earned income in Canada, 2. you may be eligible for some tax credits, 3. if you used public transport(monthly passes) you can claim it, 4. you can claim the fees for your immigration exam, lab test & X-ray under medical expenses, etc. If you don't file, you won't get anything back.
Since you earned less than $25,000 you qualify to have your tax return done for free at a volunteer tax clinic. Visit this site for one closest to you: http://www.cra-arc.gc.ca/tx/ndvdls/vlntr/clncs/menu-eng.html
