Hello,

Under the Conditions (Eligibility requirements)

d. Be employed in Canada with a valid permit or authorization to work pursuant to the Act and Regulations at the time the application for permanent residence is received and must not be self-employed, unless working as a medical doctor in a fee-for-service arrangement with a health authority. The employment must meet the definition of work under subsection 73(2) of the Regulations;

Be employed OR authorization to work pursuant... what does work pursuant means here?

I will graduate soon and looking for a job at the moment does it include me since it says be employed or authorization to work pursuant...? Do you really need to work at the time of application or not?

I appreciate your comments on this.

Cheers

It means you must be employed with a valid work permit at the time of the application

Thank you for your reply,

So you mean authorization to work pursuant means being employed? So in that case that sentence becomes : being employed or must be employed. What is the difference?

Thanks

Being employed AND authorized to work in Canada.

Thank you for detail explanation. My confusion is coming from the word OR it does not say AND if you look at the sentence. It makes a big difference in meaning. 'Be employed in Canada with a valid permit or authorization to work pursuant to ....'

this means that you need to be employed, and you need to present EITHER a valid permit OR any other type of authorization to work (if you are on implied status, for example)

There needs to be a more thorough explanation of these programs. It sounds like in that situation it would mean you’d need PGWP but that’s just my interpretation. Will implied status while waiting for PGWP be sufficient. Who knows.
