The rules have changed but not been abolished. It will depend on a case by case basis still.

But I hope they still have stipulations about this new rules, I have read in news outlet how Canadians are outrage about this new rule I am second generation Canadian I prefer the old rules and because it's the system is for Canadians and people who pay taxes Canadians should have more rights to the system.

Parents can still be rejected on health grounds. New rules just means they have a higher medical cost threshold (now approx $20K per year) to meet before they can be rejected, so it will make it easier to pass the medical exam.

But serious/expensive medical conditions that will cost more than $20K per year (i.e. ongoing cancer treatment, dialysis, etc) will probably still cause app to be rejected.
