Job Offer........
Pre-Assessed..
At a recent conference of Certified Canadian Immigration Professionals, it was announced that the List of 38 would be shortened to probably 33.

There was nothing definite on how many there would be in the new list or that any of the current list will be on the new list. I understood that the new list would consist of the occupations that they thought would be in demand when the successful applicants arrived in Canada in the future. The new list will probably include some from the current list but there was no guarantee that any would be.

However, 3 of those most likely to go are:

College Instructors
Financial Auditors/Accountants
Computer and Information System Managers

It appears that they are receiving many more FSW applications than they can process in a year so either the backlog will start increasing again or they will reduce the number of incoming applications by reducing the size of the application list and avoid occupations that might be oversubscribed.

The list will NOT be retroactive. If you have your case filed before the new Priority Occupational List, you shoud be okay.

Timeline that we heard was early summer, possibly June but no definitive date set.

Advice is if you are in one of these occupations and considering applying as an FSW, do it NOW. This Minister has been one of the most active in recent history and changes are coming soon!

There is NO official proclaimation as of yet. As I mentioned, it was discussed at an immigration conference of immigration professionals. Changes, WHEN (not if) they come will be posted on the CIC website and the Gazette.

We will only find out the changes later. Does this mean some applications are destined to get rejected because of removal of their occupations from the list, with no fault from the applicant?

I request PMM, Leon, Qurax and other Senior member to reply in details for this topic....

fyi Financial Auditors is Noc 1111 same as Accountants . Noc 0111 is Financial Managers.

I think this is the way it generally happens. When they feel that they have got enough people under any of this job category to meet their demands, they would take it off the list. Thats the reason we dont have a listing for software, IT people (except for IT managers).

Even if the new list does come up, I am sure the above mentioned occupations wont be omitted from it as they are professional occupations which are always in demand all over the world.

They might change the qualifying grounds, for example to apply under 4131 it might be mandatory for one to have a qualification in teaching such as a B.Ed.

That's my take on it, but only time will tell.

If this comes into effect, would this affect those who have received CIC approval and yet to submit full documents to CHC ?
thanks
