Hi.

As per the new bill C-24 (citizenship), it increases the residency requirements to 4 out of 6 years to qualify for citizenship. I am a bit confused.

So does it means that as per the new law, if the permanent resident DOES NOT resides for minimum of 4 years out of 6 years, he/she can also have his/her permanent residence revoked??? Or the increased 4 out of 6 years obligation is only intended to qualify for citizenship??

Thanks.

Hi Goldline,

As far I know, PR holder need to be in Canada for 3 out of 5 years, not 2 out of 5 years.
